Samsonite Termo Young Upright/Spinner Hard Shell Suitcase

The Samsonite Termo Young is not your average Samsonite suitcase. First of all, it is manufactured entirely in Europe (Szekszárd, Hungary and Oudenaarde, Belgium). It is also uncharacteristically available in two different formats: upright (two wheels) and spinner (four wheels).

For some reason, the Samsonite Termo Young is only available in limited quantities in North America. It is not even listed on the American Samsonite website. Luckily, it can be found through Amazon - but in limited types and sizes.

As you can see, this case is very similar to the Samsonite F'Lite series suitcases that is more commonly found in the USA and Canada. They are made from the exact same polypropylene material but the Termo Young has a nicer finish to the smooth top shell. The F'Lite series is also available in an upright and spinner format.

What is so great about this suitcase? We like this case because it ticks all of our "safe suitcase" boxes: it is hardsided and does not use zippers to stay closed.

The interior is partially lined and has pockets and dividers just like most other Samsonite suitcases. Samsonite has used a finishing process on their shells that provide a much longer-lasting finish.

The locking and latching mechanism look very similar to other Samsonite cases with a standard three-point locking system complete with TSA locks. These latches have been updated with new hardened see-through material that looks very modern and chic.

What makes the Samsonite Termo Young a Safe Suitcase?

The Samsonite Termo Young Upright suitcase has the three main features that we look for in a really safe suitcase. The polypropylene shells provide strength and flexibility. The three-point integrated latching system ensures that the case stays closed even under force. The tongue-and-groove with locking latch system is far superior to zippers for keeping "bad guys" out of your suitcase. You can feel very secure that once you check this bag in, the contents are safe from damage, thieves and smugglers.
