As a result of a plot to detonate liquid explosives on-board aircraft in 2006, nations around the world agreed to limit the quantities of liquids that passengers can carry aboard commercial aircraft. These restriction are still in place today and there is no sign of them being lifted anytime soon. Sure, allowances have been made for medically required liquids like mothers milk, nutrient drinks and medications but what about those expensive bottles of wine, liquor or perfume? If they have been purchased at duty free, you are probably in luck. Most duty free is wrapped in a STEB (secure tamper evident bag) and can be carried on-board commercial aircraft. This system has its limitation and is only useful if you purchase at duty free.
